#963 ATP as a player, Ricardo was a professional tennis player in the years 1987-1991, being the first portuguese tennis player to live abroad as a professional.

As a coach he had residence in Barcelona, Spain, being coach for ATP - WTA players (1999-2000), in Bruguera Tennis Academy. Also, Ricardo led a group of youth players that made the record of 5 victories (2010) in the Portuguese Tennis Federation calendar. Currently he's the Technical Director of Cayolla tennis academy.

Author of six books about tennis Ricardo his also a Sports Specialist with an academic thesis focused in his training system in tennis.

As an organizer Ricardo Cayolla realizes sports activities since 2001 such as international tennis tournaments, football tournaments, conferences, symposiums, etc.

In the media, he was tennis commentator for television in Eurosport Portugal (2013-2019) and national TV channel SIC (2000-2006).
